Old Fort Niagara
Old Fort Niagara is a colonial fort originally built to protect the interests of the French in North America. The fort is located at the mouth of the Niagara River where it enters into Lake Ontario. The fort dates to 1678, and was occupied by the British and the United States. The fort played a role in the French and Indian War, the US War for Independence, and the War of 1812.
